Tricolor Crested Geckos

Our favorite project we are working on at Moon Valley Reptiles is our Tricolor crested gecko project. Although not a true morph, the “tri-color” harlequin color combination makes for a very striking gecko. We are pairing up several males and females for the 2014 season to provide genetic variation over the next few years, incorporating new tricolor genes as necessary.

2014 Tri-color Breeders

We are pairing up Fandango with Bento this year. Bento has had a couple of years off so we could focus on other bloodlines. Her offspring may be of weight this year as well! We are really pleased with her daughter Karma, who will be paired to Fandango as well. He’s going to be a busy boy! We’ve got another Ridge & Valley girl (Yelp X Dasha line) to put him with. We also have 3 of his daughters from Scaramouche to pair with an unrelated male from Gekkotas and one of Bento’s sons.

2013

Moon Valley Reptiles took this year off of breeding due to a move, and to focus on acquiring new bloodlines. Everyone has passed quarantine periods and are ready for 2014!

2012

Our pairings for 2012 included Fandango as our centerpiece male, paired with Hänsel to bring more cream to the harlequin pattern. Unfortunately Hänsel became egg-bound, but recovered and got the next season off. Awesome-O and Sienna produced creamy babies! We hope to combine white-tipped crests to be other Tricolors and Pinstripes to produce full pinstripe outlined, tri-color crested geckos in the future!

Tri-color Crested Gecko Babies

We hatched and acquired a number of baby tricolors in 2011 and early 2012. Time will tell if the holdbacks are going to go back into the project, but there are many outstanding offspring and new lines to cross in the future! New geckos added are: Turbo & Barleycorn from Rhactastic Rhacs and TV’s Frank, Gypsy, Cambot & Tom Servo from Gekkotas.com. The Living Palette also provided us with Liption, a beautiful tri-color female.

2011 Tri-color Breeders & Offspring

Our breeders from 2011 and some older shots of the offspring.

Unfortunately, we lost Lucas and Scaramouche last year to separate health issues so our plans have been delayed but not deterred.
