Why Choose MistKing?
The MistKing misting systems have been applied in a multitude of applications, from patio cooling, reptile, amphibian terrarium/vivarium enclosures, horticultural growing shelves with orchids or exotic plants, hobby greenhouses, and even grocery and industrial applications. Major Zoos, botanical gardens, educational institutions, corporations and individual hobbyists all recognize the dedication to quality and customer service.
Fog, Mist, or Rain?
MistKing systems provide a 50 micron mist, somewhere between a heavy fog and a fine spray. Competing systems provide more of a heavy spray concentrating on a narrow area of coverage. MistKing nozzles provide a mist distributed to more areas within the enclosure.
What about Timers?
Each Ultimate Value Misting System comes with a digital, programmable seconds timer which allows you to customize the level of misting you provide to your vivarium and its enhabitants. Hardware store digital timers have several limitations. The most concerning is the watch-style of batteries with no safety option to switch the system off in case of battery failure – meaning you risk leaving your system switched “on” indefinitely. Second is the timing limitation of most timers, where the smallest interval is 1 minute, which could over-water or even flood a typical 18” X 18” X 24” terrarium. The MistKing seconds timer uses a rechargeable Ni-MH battery, and specifically allows shorter intervals. As a programmable timer unit, you to create up to 8 different custom programs to simulate daily weather patterns and customize your vivarium’s climate control.
Where can I get Reverse Osmosis (RO) water?
Many "Water Stores" or aquarium specialty shops can provide you with Reverse Osmosis water to use in your MistKing misting systems. If you live in Arizona, you’ll know how hard our water is and how white, chalky buildup is left behind on water features. By using RO water, you reduce the mineral content and ensure that your MistKing system will not clog with mineral deposits and your beautifully built tank will not be coated with hard water spots.
We’ve found a great resource for RO water in Arizona and other Western states: WinCo Foods for $0.20 a gallon.
